A full-stack developer who ships AI features, end to end.
I'm Nick. I work with small teams that need one senior engineer to take an AI feature from idea to production: the model integration, the API around it, the data underneath, and the interface people actually use.
$ls ./stack
-
Interfaces for AI features that make model output usable: streaming responses, review-and-approve flows, and the unglamorous state handling around them.
-
Backends that call models safely: retries, rate limits, cost controls, evaluation hooks, and clean boundaries so the AI part can be swapped without a rewrite.
-
Agents that do real work inside your systems. I build MCP servers that expose your data and actions to models with proper auth and audit, and the orchestration that keeps them on task.
-
Retrieval that returns the right thing: chunking, embeddings, hybrid search, and the ingestion pipelines that keep it current without babysitting.
-
Deployed, monitored, and cheap to run. Tracing on every model call so you know what it cost and why it answered the way it did.

> What I build
- AI features inside existing products Assistants, document understanding, search, summarization, and automation, built into the app your customers already use. Scoped to a working release, not a demo.
- Agents and MCP integrations Connect models to your internal tools and data through the Model Context Protocol so they can look things up and take actions with the right permissions.
- Full-stack product development New products and major features with or without an AI component. Front end, backend, data, and deployment from one engineer who owns the outcome.
- Technical consulting Architecture reviews, build-versus-buy decisions, model and vendor selection, and honest estimates before you commit budget.
> How I work
- engagements
- Fixed-scope projects or monthly retainers. Most projects run four to twelve weeks. Retainers start at two days a week.
- where
- Remote. Based in the US, comfortable working with teams on European hours.
- communication
- A short written update every week, a working demo every two. You always know what's done, what's next, and what it's costing.
- ownership
- You own the code and the accounts from day one. Nothing lives only on my machine.
- contracting
- Through SOLOSTACK LLC, a Utah company. W-9 and certificate of insurance on request.
